«[..] there [in Pero Vaz] were two special places - Zacarias's Dive and Mr Waldemar's Shed, where the capoeira fights and rooster fights took place, always on weekends. When Mr Joaquim Fiuza [born in 1946] was a young boy, he always went to these two places to have fun, to dance and drink at the Dive and watch the incredible capoeira shows in the Shed. He remembers how the clapped hands for Mr Waldemar and, in chorus, called him "Seven Springs" [there was also another mestre by that name, who had a roda close to Waldemar's] thanks to his fast movements and the ability to play capoeira without dirtying his white clothes, that were used on weekends, as any good capoeirista would.»
