•  Brazilian night in Daniel Sorano National Theatre, Dakar 

    M Gildo Alfinete in M Zoião, 1999: «[M Pastinha] traveled to Africa and had a thrombosis which affected his sight. All the same, Mestre Pastinha participated on the show, stepping up playing atabaque. This was in the Black Arts Festival, where capoeira opened the show where I (Gildo Alfinete) and Mestre João Grande were participants.»

    Brazil supposedly took the stage also on a stadium on another day.

      DACAR - There will be today the Brazilian night in the International Festival of Dacar. Taking stage are: Elisete Cardoso, Elton Medeiros, Paulinho da Viola, Heitor dos Prazeres and his mulatto girls, Atualfo Alves and his samba school, and Mestre Pastinha wiht his four* capoeiristas.

      * João Grande, Gildo Alfinete, Roberto Satanás and Gato Preto, excluding, naturally, M Camaféu.
